DESCRIPTION:It’s fall festival fun!! The Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch has grown to be one of the largest festivals in the state!!\nNow in its 26th year\, Boone Hall is proud of the fact that this event is a fall tradition for many families that is being passed down from generation…to generation. It’s an event where the laughter and squeals of excitement tell the story.\nThis year’s event features a petting zoo\, magic shows\, pig and goat races\, two of the largest jump pillows in the state\, playground area\, water duck races\, and a variety of other good ole fashioned fall fun including the giant eight-acre Boone Hall Farms Corn Maze. The very popular Family Friendly Halloween Tractor Tour will feature a variety of new colorful scenes and displays that will introduce a number of new special effects that will entertain people of all ages. SUMMARY:Getting to Know Mushrooms
DESCRIPTION:Next in our farm series on Dr. George Washington Carver  is …Dr. Carver the mycologist\,  with a focus of sharing information about his mushroom collections and fungi research. In addition we hope to introduce and build the skills needed to identify local south eastern mushrooms especially those in our local lowcountry communities. The class will be a combination of lecture and outdoor experience to look at physical identification features\, likely locations\, and the seasonal occurrence of mushrooms.  \nAttendees will be provided information about how to grow mushrooms using indoor kits\, use mushroom plugs in logs and cultivating in hardwood chip beds or mulch. Tour the property with presenters and look for and practice identifying mushrooms. Chef and Forager Alex Curtis @acurtcooks will share her knowledge as a licensed forager and prepare the meal for the event\, vegan choices will be available. The class is open to individuals and families with children. There will be handouts that can be available digitally. There will be a special take home activity for children.  \nCamping spaces are available for travelers through @hipcamp \, where we are listed as “Friendly Fowl Farm”.

Join us for this once in a lifetime day trip to experience the history and innovations of South Carolina agriculture on Wadmalaw Island. \nThe cost of the tour is $95. SUMMARY:Gullah Campfire Supper with Stories and Songs: Emancipation Proclamation Event
DESCRIPTION:We’re excited about our next farm event that will celebrate the reading of the Emancipation Proclamation that took place January 1\, 1863 at Camp Saxton the present day location of the Navy Hospital Beaufort. Our celebration will reenact portions of the original program including stories and songs.  There will be a Civil War wedge tent\, a soldier’s haversack and mess kit. Hear journal accounts from actual program attendees along with the history and purpose of Camp Saxton.  Get a feel for the excitement of the meaning of the document and the hope it inspired.  Guests will be served a meal that will include dishes similar to that served at the program at Camp Saxton plus dishes that are traditionally served for a Gullah New Year’s Day supper.  Expect a special outdoor event that commemorates a very special historic occasion.  Our programs are educational and family friendly. \n

DESCRIPTION:Eggstravaganza is one of Moore Farms Botanical Garden’s most EGG-ceptional events of the year. More than 20\,000 eggs will be laid out throughout the garden for children to hunt. We will also feature crafts and a surprise visit by the Easter bunny himself! We will offer two different egg hunt locations within the garden\, separated by age. Upon arrival\, children will receive a wristband separating them into one of two different groups – Group A: 4 years and Under OR Group B: 5yrs. + \nEggstravaganza begins at 10am with crafts\, facepainting\, and more! Egg hunts will begin PROMPTLY at 11am. \nEveryone attending Eggstravaganza must secure a ticket\, including parents and children under 1 yr of age\, to allow us to control the number of guests in the garden. \nALL ticket proceeds from this event benefit the J. Paul Truluck Creative Arts and Sciences Magnet School \nEggstravaganza is a fund-raising event\, therefore\, the event will take place RAIN OR SHINE. In the event of severe weather\, ticket holders will be notified should MFBG staff choose to cancel the event for the safety of our guests. Refunds will ONLY be granted should MFBG staff choose to cancel the event.
