DESCRIPTION:As a member of the SC Agritourism as a Forester growing Lob lolly Pine trees on 38 acres\, I will be using all four meeting rooms at the Darlington County Libraries to discuss how foresters in the 46 SC Counties can protect and preserve their family land. A lawyer and a forester of the Center of Heirs Property and Preservation will be present to assist me at these events. I will discuss how I\, as a Woodlands Community Advocate of the Center of Heirs Property and Preservation have gotten a Management Plan\, and an Equip Contract with the National Conservation Resource Services to help me grow healthy and sellable timber in the years to come as I invest in Generational Wealth and security for my family land. SUMMARY:Gullah Campfire Supper with Stories and Songs: Women's History Month Celebration
DESCRIPTION:The Women’s History Month Gullah Campfire Supper with Stories and Songs will focus on Women of the Civil Rights Movement. Join us to hear the stories of two sisters from Charleston\, Minerva Brown King and Millicent Brown. They were the plaintiffs in the SC Brown case to integrate public schools in Charleston. We will also share stories of women they met growing up the late Septima Clark founder of the Sea Island Citizenship School and Fannie Lou Hamer who attended the school.\nIn addition to those stories we will sing more songs of the Movement and enjoy a traditional Lowcountry hog roasted by Marvin Ross of Peculiar Pig Farm. The menu will include other traditional Gullah dishes. This is an event you don’t want to miss. It will have it all\, delicious food\, the Lowcountry ambiance\, campfires\, songs that encouraged the Movement and stories of our history all in one setting!
